These terms cover your use of Borders & Stories. By creating an account, you agree to them. They're written in plain language on purpose, but they're still the terms that apply.
The app
Borders & Stories is a personal travel-tracking app: you mark countries, cities, and regions visited, log flights and routes, and attach photos, journal entries, and budget data to your trips. The app is paid up front, with no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.
Your account
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when signing up and for keeping your login credentials secure. One account is for one person; don't share your login. You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a Borders & Stories account.
Your content
Everything you create in the app, journal entries, photos, custom lists, budget notes, and everything else, stays yours. We don't claim ownership of it. You give us only the limited permission needed to host, store, process, display, back up, and transmit your content in order to provide the features you use, including features you choose to use like sharing or exporting a GPX route. That permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to the limited retention described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Use the app for its intended purpose: tracking your own travel. Don't attempt to breach its security, interfere with other users' accounts, or use it in a way that violates applicable law.
Maps and place data
Country boundaries and names follow standard datasets (ISO 3166-1 and the app's bundled map source) for travel-tracking purposes only. Their inclusion, grouping, or labeling isn't a statement on political status.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate and reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose beyond its ordinary use.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the app. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time, in-app or via the account deletion page — see our Privacy Policy for what that removes. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel or refund your original app purchase. Refund eligibility is governed by Google Play's policies and any rights you have under applicable law.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
